Medical Expense Allowance for Infants and Toddlers
Allowances are offered for medical expenses (personally-borne portion
for services received with health insurance) incurred when an infant
or toddler is treated at a medical institution.
To receive an allowance, you must register.
For Hospitalization: Until elementary school entrance
Outpatient Services: Until the end of the month when the child becomes four years of age.
Child Allowance
Child Allowances are available for people (includes registered foreign
residents) who are raising a preschool child. Although this allowance
is offered by the national government, it is paid through the local
municipal government, so you must complete application procedures again
after completing the stipulated change of address procedures in Tsurugashima.
Please also note that income restrictions apply in order to receive
this allowance.
Child-Rearing Allowance
Child allowances are available for those who are raising a child who
is under 18 years of age (20 years of age if the child has a disability)
in a household without a father or with a father who has a disability
of a designated level or higher (income restrictions apply).
Financial Assistance for Medical Costs
Costs for Single-Parent Households, etc.
Medical financial assistance (for part of the cost of medical treatment with health insurance that is personally borne) is available for single-parent households or families with a parent who has a disability (income restrictions apply).

Nursery Schools
There are six nursery schools in the city. Nursery schools take care
of children whose parents are working or ill, until the child reaches
elementary school age. The nursery school fee is determined according
to household income tax and amount paid for city residents' tax.

Tsurugashima Developmental Support Center
Assistance in a child's development is offered by guiding and training children who are physically/mentally disabled or physically/mentally retarded.
Eligibility: For
children from 1 year of age to under elementary school age.
Must live in the city and parents must be able to bring and pick up
the child.
