Cultural Facilities

Kouminkan

There are five kouminkan in the city - Higashi, Minami, Kita, Fujimi, Ohashi and Nishi- which serve as a location where residents can pursue club activities such as for independent learning, culture and recreation. As a rule, there is no charge to use the facilities. However, there is a charge if the facilities are to be used for purposes other than the designated goals.

Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Closed: December 28 to January 4 and for maintenance as needed.
How to use the facility: Applications can be made on the 1st of every month (if the 1st falls on a Saturday, Sunday, national holiday or scheduled closed day, then the following day) for two months in advance.

Libraries

In addition to the Chuo Library, there are six library annexes. Ten books may be borrowed per person for up to three weeks while two audiovisuals may be borrowed for up to a week per person.

Closed: Sundays, Mondays, national holidays (but open on May 5: Children's Day) and during the year-end and New Year holidays.
How to use the facilities: Please write your name on the reception counter list when you come to the hall.
Other information: Only children under 18 years of age may use the hall. Preschoolers must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Other Facilities

Tsurugashima Fureai Center "Tsuru-no Sato Furoide"

Using the heat of the Takakura Clean Center as well as solar heat, this "refreshment" center has a Jacuzzi, outdoor baths, and a dining hall. Since the area surrounding the building is a forest, you can enjoy a nice stroll as well.
Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (reception is open until 8:00 p.m.)
Closed: Tuesday (if Tuesday is a national holiday, then the following day) and during the New Year holidays
Admission:

Those who live in Tsurugashima, Moroyama, Ogose or Hatoyama City	Adults = \400, Children = \200, Preschoolers = Free of charge
